Includes "Becqueriana" a cycle of seven poems about the progress of a love affair using texts by Spain's greatest romantic poet, Gustavo Becquer; also three centered on women's issues from the medieval Portuguese author (writing in Castilian) Gil Vicente, and two songs with texts by Garcia Lorca. This is "modern" classical music, song cycles for voice with piano accompaniment. The Garcia Lorca, is ideally for mezzo soprano, the Gil Vicente for soprano with coloratura ability, and the Gustavo Becquer cycle (Becqueriana) for baritone or tenor. But other voices are welcome to do them!
